The Foundation carried out a varied in programme of work in Hungary mainly between 2001-05. We organised a number of seminars on a range of topics including Human Rights in Europe, law reform in Hungary and changes in legal procedures necessary for a country planning to join the EU.
In addition a series of seven training sessions was arranged in cooperation with The Office of the National Council of Justice and the Budapest Bar Association for young practicing lawyers. The topics covered included Human Rights and the Charter of Fundamental Rights, Development of European Integration, Environmental Law, The Four Freedoms, The European Judicial Network, Judicial Co-operation, Competition Law and EU Court Procedure.
The Foundation also organised a visit to London by six judges nominated by the Office of the National Council of Justice of Hungary.
