Slynn Foundation

Introduction
Created in 1998 on the initiative of His Hon George Dobry CBE QC to fulfill a growing need for support, advice and training to young lawyers from countries of Central and Eastern Europe,  the Foundation has been named after Lord Slynn in recognition of his contribution to the development of the principles and practice of European Law in its broadest sense.

The purpose of the Foundation is to promote better understanding between Britain and these countries and to contribute to the development of joint action.

This will be through meetings of leading legal representatives of these countries and those here in the UK, through lectures and seminars to lawyers at all levels who specialise in European Law, and to create and award fellowships which will enable promising young lawyers to spend a year studying and working in the UK.
